Summit is promoting the movie Step Up 4Ever at the 2010 American Film Market, and we get to see a teaser poster:

Even more interesting is this plot synopsis of Step Up 4Ever:
Plot:
"The newest 3D installment of the smash hit Step Up franchise brings the eye-popping dance moves, drama and romance that have made the series a global sensation to Miami, Florida. This highly anticipated sequel from the producers of Step Up, Step Up 2: The Streets, and Step Up 3D, takes the franchise to a spectacular new level. With a sexy young cast, red-hot soundtrack and dazzling new choreography, Step Up 4Ever delivers more heart-pumping excitement than ever as the world's best dancers compete to be crowned the kings and queens of Miami’s sizzling dance scene."
So it's confirmed: there's a world dance competition ahead for us! What countries will we see? Is there any local street dance style that should figure in Step Up 4Ever?
Update - Summit Entertainment has released a new plot description:
New Plot synopsis:
"STEP UP 4 is the next installment in the worldwide smash Step Up franchise, which sets the dancing against the vibrant backdrop of Miami. Emily, the daughter of a wealthy businessman, arrives in Miami with aspirations of becoming a professional dancer, but soon falls in love with Sean, a young man who leads a dance crew in elaborate, cutting-edge flash mobs. The crew, called the MOB, strives to win a contest for a major sponsorship opportunity, but soon Emily's father threatens to develop the MOB's historic neighborhood and displace thousands of people. Emily must band together with Sean and the MOB to turn their performance mobs into protest mobs, and risk losing their dreams to fight for a greater cause."
Did they abandon the world competition thing?

Step Up 3 received mixed reviews from movie critics. It may not contain believable acting or a memorable plot, but Step Up 3D does deliver solid choreography and stunning visuals. So the film performing rather well in theaters. It's mid-august and the film has already recouped its $30-million budget. And I guess it won't stop here, and if we take into account additional revenues from music, merchandising, and DVD and BluRay releases later on, the film will turn out to be quite profitable for the studios.
So we may fairly assume that there's going to be a new Step Up movie. There's no official plan yet, but for sure the studios are probably already thinking about doing Step Up 4. There has been a Step Up movie every two years since the first one, so Step Up 4 will probably get released in 2012.
I wonder what's going to be the official title of Step Up 4, are they going to use the obvious Step Up Forever (Step Up 4 Ever!) or will they come up with something more creative?
What about the plot of Step Up 4? Should it be a direct sequel to Step Up 3? Or should the movie Step Up 4 introduce a new dance crew? Should they keep Adam Sevani who plays the role of Moose in Step Up 4?
For my part I'd like Step Up 4 to focus on a world competition of street dance opposing a crew trained in America to the best international street dancers, that would be awesome I think. What do you think? Post your suggestions for Step Up 4 below, if lucky the scriptwriters may read this page and your ideas could be picked up for the next film.
